Palmerston is seeking to fill the following positions in the Great Southern:

 

Youth Counsellor Educators

Fixed term part time contracts to 30 June 2018. Three positions (Albany and Katanning).

Based in both Albany and Katanning, the Youth Counsellor educators will have both a treatment and prevention focus with the aim of reducing harm associated with alcohol or other drug (AOD) use for young people and their families. The position will provide a professional AOD service providing counselling and support to young people, families, other service providers and the local community in a culturally secure way.

We are seeking motivated people with experience and/or qualifications within the youth services and/or alcohol and drug field, who are passionate about improving the lives of young people and who thrive in a dynamic organisation.

Salary is: $63,000 to $67,700 (per annum, pro rata).

Counsellor Educator – Yarning and Parenting Program

Fixed term contract, hours to be negotiated to 30 June 2017.

Based in Albany and/or Katanning, the counsellor educator(s) – Yarning and Parenting will have both a treatment and prevention focus with the aim of reducing harm associated with alcohol or other drug (AOD) use for young parents and families, in particular, young Aboriginal families. The position(s) will provide a professional AOD service providing counselling and support to young parents and families, other service providers and the local community in a culturally secure way.

Counsellor Educator - Katanning:

Fixed term full time contract to 30 June 2018.

Based in Katanning, the counsellor/educator will have both a treatment and prevention focus with the aim of reducing harm associated with alcohol or other drug (AOD) use. The position will provide a professional AOD service providing counselling and support to clients, families, other service providers and the local community in a culturally secure way. The position will have a focus on the implementation of Palmerston’s response to methamphetamine.

We are seeking a motivated person with experience and/or qualifications within the alcohol and drug field, who thrives in a dynamic organisation.

Salary is: $63,000 to $67,700 (per annum, pro rata).

Senior Prevention Officer - Albany:

Fixed term, full time contract to 31 December 2018

In collaboration with the Mental Health Commission (MHC) and other stakeholders, the senior prevention officer will take a lead role in the development, implementation and evaluation of evidence based prevention strategies to reduce and prevent alcohol and other drug related harms in the Great Southern region.

Applications for this position are sought from people with experience in alcohol and other drugs as well as experience in primary prevention. The successful applicant will be able to work on their own initiative and within a team setting.

Commencing salary is $73,585. The conditions of employment are attractive and includes salary packaging benefits.
