About the role

Aboriginality is a genuine qualification for this position (section 50(d) of the Equal Employment Opportunity Act 1984).

Based at the South Metro Community Alcohol and Drug Service in Mandurah and Rockingham, the role offers information and support to people who have been in contact with the justice system. The successful applicant will have the ability to work with people in regards to alcohol or other drugs. A strong sense of connection with the Aboriginal community is essential, along with good communication and yarning skills. Applicants with interest and experience in the alcohol and other drug field or justice system are well suited to this role.

The position involves encouraging eligible people to consider the alcohol and other drug court diversion program, liaising with court staff, conducting assessments for the program and following up with clients.

Pay Level is equivalent to Level 4 – Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
