About the role
IAs a Counsellor Educator, you will play a crucial role in providing culturally secure and trauma-informed counselling, education, and support to consumers and their families. With a strong foundation in clinical knowledge and skills, you will apply evidence-based alcohol and other drug (AOD) counselling techniques while fostering therapeutic community principles to support sustainable change. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, delivering individual and group counselling, facilitating educational and therapeutic sessions, and collaborating with affiliated service providers through shared case management. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate clinical records, participating in case reviews, and contributing to ongoing professional development. As part of our commitment to high standards, you will actively support the implementation of the Alcohol and Other Drug and Human Services Standard (AODHSS) and the ATCA therapeutic community standards. This role includes participation in an on-call roster and requires a commitment to occupational health and safety practices. Pay Level is equivalent to Level 4 – Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010.
