Using new, sterile equipment reduces the risk of transmitting blood-borne viruses through injecting drug use. We provide new, sterile injecting equipment at our Mandurah and Albany branches. Our staff are available to offer information and connect you with other services if needed. We also provide safe disposal bins, and most equipment is free of charge.
Naloxone is also available as part of the Needle and Syringe program.
FITPACKS
In Katanning, while we don’t offer an exchange service, we provide Fitpacks. Fitpacks are designed to offer you a safe place to store used needles. You can insert used syringes into a slot inside the Fitpack, which keeps them secure until disposal. All packs contain 1ml fits, and some also include cotton wool, swabs, sterile water, and spoons.
