Palmerston Association’s Katanning team has entered an exciting new chapter, officially opening the doors to its new offices last week.
The move marks a significant step in expanding Palmerston’s services in Katanning and strengthening its commitment to supporting individuals and families affected by alcohol and other drug (AOD) challenges throughout the Great Southern region.
Palmerston’s General Manager of Regions, Tina Edwards-Pope, said the new space would boost the Katanning team’s capacity to meet local needs.
“This new office gives our team the space and resources needed to provide even greater support to the community,” she said. “It’s a welcoming, purpose-built environment where we can continue to expand our services and reach more people in need.”
Palmerston’s Katanning team will continue to provide vital AOD services, including individual counselling, support for families and friends affected by a loved one’s AOD use, and dedicated youth AOD support for those aged 12 to 25.
The team also employs an Aboriginal Engagement Officer to enhance cultural connection, while running YARN SMART Groups to provide peer-based support. The office will also continue to offer the Needle & Syringe Program, Peer Support, Parents Under Pressure (PuP), and support for families and friends.
Ms Edwards-Pope said she and the team were eager to welcome clients and community members into the new space.
“Recovery is a journey, and having a safe, supportive place to walk that path is so important,” she said. “We’re excited for our clients, their families, and support networks to step into this new space and feel a true sense of belonging as they continue their recovery.”
