Palmerston is proud to announce the launch of a 12-month pilot outreach project in the Rockingham area. In partnership with our existing friends at St Pat’s and funded by the City of Rockingham, this outreach project will provide an agile and mobile service that will enhance access and support for people experiencing homelessness and AOD-related challenges.
This initiative builds on Palmerston’s existing outreach program in Fremantle and expands its reach southward, bringing critical, person-centred support directly to where it’s needed most. Operating four days a week, the outreach team will move on foot and by car to target key hotspot locations across the city.
Services delivered through the project will include:
- Psychosocial support
- Harm reduction interventions
- Case management services
The mobile nature of the project ensures support is accessible and responsive, particularly for individuals who may find traditional service models difficult to engage with.
“This project reflects our deep belief that support should be accessible, flexible, and non-judgmental,” said Palmerston CEO, Emma Jarvis. “By going directly to the community, we’re removing barriers and reaching people who may not otherwise have the opportunity to engage with services.”
The pilot project is designed to foster stronger connections, reduce harm, and improve health and wellbeing outcomes for those facing intersecting challenges around substance use and housing insecurity.
